Kitchen island with a sink, is moving the plumbing actually feasible?


We're planning a kitchen remodel and the wife wants the sink moved from under the window to a new island in the middle of the room. I love the idea but I'm worried about the plumbing side, especially since the kitchen is on a concrete slab and there's no easy way down. I've been looking for Professional advice on planning remodel plumbing layouts because I don't want to agree to a layout that turns out to be a nightmare once the walls come down. Has anyone here moved a sink to an island and found it was straightforward, or did it turn into a money pit? And is there a way to get a proper answer from a plumber before committing to the design, rather than finding out after the fact?
